This summer, the Yadkin Valley proudly welcomes the first ever Rally in the Valley – NC’s ‘best little rally’ held in the towns of Elkin and Jonesville. Located at the base of the Blue Ridge and a short distance from piedmont metros including Charlotte and the Triad, the towns of Elkin and Jonesville have a lot to offer for the motorcycle community. The inaugural Rally in the Valley runs from the afternoon of Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 3rd with a laid-back, family-friendly vibe that welcomes all bikers. Join us as things kick off on Friday evening with a ‘ride to the Rally’ group ride starting at Crossroads Harley-Davidson in Wilkesboro at 6:00pm. The weekend rides are organized by Bikers Helping Grannies with the support of the Enrollment Center of United Healthcare. Live music and vendors will be underway Friday evening at 5:00pm at the Yadkin Valley Heritage & Trails Center in Elkin featuring Coddle Creek (5-7pm) and Unhinged (8-10pm) on the River Stage. Bikers can head over to Angry Troll Brewing in historic downtown Elkin for an after party each night of the event in the downstairs taproom from 10pm to midnight.

On Saturday, the event picks up with two rides: a longer one venturing up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Freeborne’s historic motor lodge and restaurant (registration at 9am, kickstands up at 10am), and a shorter one showcasing the Yadkin Valley and stopping at Castello Barone Winery (registration at 10:30am, kickstands up at 11:30am). Both will finish at 2:00pm in the parking lot of Angry Troll Brewing for a bike and tattoo contest with live music by Bradley Steele. From there, live music and vendors will be in full swing for another evening at the River Stage with musical guests Double Shoals (5-7pm) and 3 Toe Possum (8-10pm) along with a ‘Baddest Beard Contest’ in between at 7:15pm.

Sunday welcomes everyone to a biker church service at the River Stage from 10:30 to 11 am led by Arlo Faircloth of Redemption Life Church. A final ride of the weekend will head east towards Winston-Salem for lunch at Pine Tree Tavern (registration at 11am, kickstands up at 12pm). The Rally will return to Elkin and conclude at Angry Troll Brewing for its weekly Bike Night going from 4pm until midnight.

Rally in the Valley shirts and patches will be available for sale throughout the weekend while supplies last at the porch of the Yadkin Valley Heritage Center (Friday noon-5pm, Saturday 9am – 5pm, and Sunday 10am – 1pm). Proceeds from the Rally benefit the Yadkin Valley United Fund, a collection of local nonprofit organizations whose mission is to improve the lives of the community through improved healthcare, education and well-being. Anyone looking to experience the event in more ways can contact logan@exploreelkin.com for information on volunteering opportunities and their perks, as well as suggestions on additional things to do in the Elkin and Jonesville area. The full event including the schedule of events, about the area and participating sponsors can be found at bestlittlerally.com/. Be sure to check it out on Facebook too for special updates, stories and shout outs as the event draws near. Until then, we’ll see you at North Carolina’s best little rally!
